FedChoice Charitable Foundation Takes Part in Foundations on the Hill Forum
On Tuesday, February 27, Andrey Gidaspov, Executive Director, FedChoice Charitable Foundation, joined Danista Hunte, Maryland Philanthropy Network (MPN) Executive Director, Shanetta Martin, M.A., MPN Director of Public Policy, Education, and Special Projects and Sharifa Love-Schnur, Director, Philanthropy DMV‘s Membership & Development, to advocate for the charitable sector on Capitol Hill.
Special thanks to the United Philanthropy Forum and MPN for this incredible chance to amplify our collective voice in support of the bipartisan Charitable Act (H.R. 3455/S. 565), which would allow a special deduction for charitable giving for the many of us who don’t itemize our deductions. If this act becomes law, millions more Americans will be able to give back and uplift their communities.
Our group engaged with legislative staff at the offices of Senator Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) and Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). They were interested to learn how our Foundation is bringing the power of financial literacy to young people and their families in local underserved communities in Maryland and Washington, DC.
